Video Scans

Our video scanner allows us to attain a detailed view of the chimney cavity. This gives a much more thorough scan than a regular level 1 chimney inspection. We use state of the art video cameras and scanning tools that are designed to operate in small 3’’ venting pipes up to 13’’ x 18’’ fireplace flues. For larger jobs we can add on stabilizers and utilize rotating cameras to gain a comprehensive scan of any size chimney.

Smoke Tests

Even more conclusive than a video scan, is a smoke test. The smoke test analyzes the tightness and condition of your chimney. A smoke test is performed by closing off the top and bottom of the chimney and filling the chimney with smoke. Smoke will escape through any gaps or joint openings revealing any structural flaws in the chimney. The purpose of the test is to determine if the chimney is seeping any fumes during normal operation.

Pro form Chimneys

A Pro Form chimney is a flexible lining system that can confirm to any shape, size, or length. It is corrosion proof and air tight. The pliable liner is very easy to run through a chimney and can be a great solution for chimneys that are not entirely straight or have structural issues.

Oil to Gas Conversions

Converting from oil to gas can result in a significant cost savings over the long term and is better for the environment than oil. Often times when converting from oil to gas a chimney inspection and sweep is required. The existing flue liner may or may not be acceptable for a gas appliance. Gas emits a different type of exhaust than oil and therefore requires a different liner. Overt time fumes can erode the liner and begin to leak fumes.

Custom Chase Cover Replacement

A chimney case cover is located on the top of the chimney. It is a metal cover which deflects water and protects the bricks of the chimney. Chase covers can be made of a variety of materials but the most common is stainless steel.
